Hygge Wellness accepts most major insurance plans. However, with the frequent changes that happen in the insurance marketplace, it is a good idea for you to contact your insurance company prior to your appointment and verify if we are a participating provider as per your plan.

 Well child visits and annual adult wellness and annual gyn visits are considered preventative care and many health insurance plans cover these visits with no out of pocket cost. Preventative care visits include reviewing and updating medical history, measuring weight and blood pressure, performing or ordering appropriate age based screenings, and keeping immunizations update.

Problem visits- visits to discuss new or continued health problems like an illness, injury, or symptom. Problem visits can include both acute and chronic conditions. Most health insurance plans pass on some or all of the cost of these visits through co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles. 

Combination visits- It can be convenient to combine a problem and preventative care visit. If you have acute or chronic health concerns to discuss at your preventative care appointment, often these visits can be combined so you don’t have to make multiple separate appointments. Most health insurance plans cover the preventative care portion of the visit without out of pocket cost, and pass on some or all of the cost of the problem portion of the visit with co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles. 

Preventative Counseling- At Hygge Wellness, we strive to partner with you in healthcare differently. This often means additional time, education, and effort from our midwives, nurse practitioners, and staff. We often are able to bill insurance companies for additional time spent in education related exercise/activity, extensive vaccine education, nutrition, chronic disease management, etc. . These services are billed out as preventative counseling where appropriate, which most insurance companies cover without additional patient portions.

An establish care visit is the initial appointment between a patient and and healthcare provider with a goal of establishing long term relationships.  This visit reviews health history, clinic practices and philosophy, physical exam when appropriate, baseline lab testing if needed, and creates a foundation for future appointments.  At Hygge Wellness, we do not schedule preventative care visits as new patient appointments due to the time we spend reviewing and establishing your care.
